Memphis Holiday 2021 Shopping Guide - Hostess Gifts

If you follow along on instagram, you may have seen my first Shopping Guide post “Holiday Essentials” - I have continued the searching and gathering local goods perfect for your gift giving and I welcome you to the “Hostess” Shopping Guide! If you’re invited to holiday parties this year and don’t want to show up empty handed (hello, faux pas!) then this is the list for you!

Local handmade shop ARCHd has sets of coasters you can build by city - that’s so stinkin cool! There’s no better gift for a hostess with Monica vibes than a set of coasters, am I right? Felt backed marble coasters set of 4 - $38.

2. Caramels - Shotwell Candy Co

Shotwell participated in a holiday market I sold felt flowers at and I tried one of their caramels and, I kid you not, every time the holidays come around I immediately order them for family, friends and.. oh, myself. they’re so good and they are the PERFECT “bring to the party” addition. 2.5oz resealable pouch with 10 individually wrapped pieces $6.95.

3. Plant - Golden Hour

It’s only recently that I became a plant mom. I now know there is not a single plant someone could bring me that would not get me excited. Not only does Golden Hour have a stunningly gorgeous downtown shop, they also have a spectacular assortment of pots to pair with future plant bebe.

4. Petunia Tea Towel - Lindsey Glenn

Can you ever go wrong with a tea towel? Especially when it’s so adorable and vibrant, I’m thinking IT’S A WIN. Lindsey’s patterns are so bold and fun, it would be the perfect “bow” for a bottle of wine - walking in with that gift, you’d be welcome at my holiday gathering for sure. 100% cotton 28”x28” flour sack tea towel $18.

5. Brie Baker - Mary B Pottery

My mother-in-law and I have a brie tradition.. you know the year I discovered Mary B I immediately ordered one of her brie bakers! It was a difficult task gifting it to my MIL instead of keeping it for myself.. another smash hostess gift! You can even bring it to the party with brie in it - yes please!! 6. Advent Chocolates - 17Berkshire

17Berkshire in Overton Square is infamous for Nuha’s macarons. Did you also know that she makes chocolates for her own advent calendar? It’s quite decadent and the fact that they’re made right here in Memphis is * chefs kiss.* Advent calendar of 24 chocolate bonbons $36.

7. Notepad - Primas Bakery

This colorful bakery has a beautiful instagram - it’s so vibrant and fun, but did you know they have so much cool stuff in their boutique?? This notepad is perfect for jotting down notes, grocery lists or “thanks you’s” to send after the party! Magnetized notepad with 65 pages 8.5”x4.5” $9.99.

8. Tiger Wine Bag - Southern Avenue Company

Wine is good.. great, even. Bringing it in a Memphis tigers wine bag? I don’t know if I can think of a better.. pairing (see what I did there??). Show your tiger pride and love for vino all in one swing. Linen wine bag with jute drawstring $16.

9. Grow Here Art Print - Whitney Winkler

This gorgeous watercolor print of Tennessee is perfect for a hostess gift! Framed or unframed, this piece is stunning and so thoughtful! 11”x14” print on linen paper with gold accents $36.

10. Christmas Morning Candle - Falling Into Place

That cheery vibe isn’t just found in hanging Christmas lights, this candle is so festive it’s crazy! Falling Into Place on Broad Avenue has their own line of soy wax candles and they all smell amazing, but this one is like Christmas in a jar! 7.5 oz 100% soy candle $24

11. Svulme Vase - Paper and Clay

This vase is playful in shape but still so stunning! The dark teal is one of my favorite Paper and Clay glazes and any hostess would be happy to display this beauty with some fresh florals!! Handmade 7” vase $59.

12. Narcissist Soap - Buff City Soap

Stocking up soap for guests is probably on a hostess’ list of “to do’s” and Buff City’s Narcissist can’t be beat. It smells so good and I love how soft it makes my hands!! Handmade bar of soap $9.
